Why is it called 50 & 50? It was suggested by the two former owners during a casual conversation over drinks, proposing to each contribute half of the grapes to create today’s masterpiece.
The grapes come from the Montepulciano area—Merlot from the Avignonesi winery—and Sangiovese from the Chianti area—Capannelle winery. This wine has garnered significant attention in the wine world for its “non-traditional and innovative winemaking methods,” with extremely low production and a focus on quality.
