Description
Burgundy Meursault’s crown jewel – Comtes Lafon is renowned alongside the prestigious estate Leflaive.
The winery’s history dates back to 1867 when Jules Lafon married the daughter of a Meursault wine merchant, marking the beginning of this illustrious white wine estate.
In September 1999, Lafon acquired a small winery in the Mâcon region, Mill Larmartine, and renamed it Les Héritiers du Comte Lafon. This estate follows the same management model and winemaking philosophy, rigorously maintaining quality.
In its early days, the estate was farmed organically, later transitioning to biodynamic practices; fermentation occurs in stainless steel barrels before being carefully nurtured in large oak barrels.
