Description
Domaine Kuheiji is a winery established in Burgundy, France, and has been producing high-quality Burgundy wines since 2016. The winery is located in the Château de Morey-Saint-Denis, one of the famous appellations of the Côte de Nocé.
A sake brewery that makes Oriental rice wine in Japan and going to France to open a winery to make Western wine is no easy task, which shows that it is of great significance to Kuheiji.
Kuheiji is a big admirer of the terroir-oriented philosophy of Burgundy in France, and its Kuro Tianso in Japan has borrowed from Burgundy’s farming and winemaking philosophy to grow rice and make sake.
Jiupingji believes that rice is as much influenced by the terroir as grapes, so they are eager to understand how the land, microclimate, and cultivation methods affect the crops (and later winemaking) – and Burgundy is the best place to learn and practice.
